Finished reading this excellent book - first published in 1970 - recently. My only caveat is that the latest publication must have been edited using Microsoft Spellchecker. Throughout 'Ile' and 'Iles' have become 'lie' and 'lies.' That apart, invaluable source book, terrific historical reference tool.

The characters in it are all historical figures who have more than earned their place in history. In fact they make all of today's 'leaders' look like pygmies ...
