Earlier today I got a message from the author of the blog that published the comments on my Harry Heron stories. Jonathon is entusiastic and provided me with a wealth of ideas and suggestions, even offering to help me set one of the stories up as a trial script for a 'pitch' to a producer. Clearly I am going to have to do a lot of work still to give this idea 'legs' and equally clearly it would be a big help if I could get an agent to help me with it. There are a number of things I now need to consider carefully and a whole lot of things I will have to explore to see what is really practical for me.
As I've often remarked, there is a reason I spent my career in the fire and emergency services - I'm not a great salesman. To sell one needs to be confident and a little extroverted. The first I can manage, the second is a problem. That said, I'm going to have to get to work on it - because I do believe that Harry will make a great movie or TV series.
I can't let him down.
