The fifth book in my Harry Heron scifi adventure series is now 'in production' with me going through the first tranche of editor's changes, corrections and suggestions. It is hard work I'll confess, but I enjoy working with Janet Angelo of IndieGo Publishing, and find her approach sympathetic and helpful. I'm confident that The Outer Edge is going to be the best finished book in the series so far. One reason is that Janet is a scifi fan herself (we're both fans of Star Wars, Babylon 5, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and others). It makes working with her a laugh as well as getting the book into the best form possible.
Very encouraging is the news that her son, another scifi fan has looked over the first few chapters and is excited by the story, rating it as 'the best he's read in recent years'. Now that is great news, he's of an age with the hero of the story and is the very audience I'd like to engage.
So, watch this space for more updates as the work progresses. There is a lot to be done, but, done properly, it is worth every drop of the blood, sweat and tears it takes to do it properly.
